Our clinic has recently started offering the Lymphocyte T-Cell Immunomodulator FeLV and FIV treatment to our clients with cats suffering from Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Aids (FIV).
What Is the Lymphocyte T-Cell Immunomodulator FeLV and FIV Treatment?
The Lymphocyte T-Cell Immunomodulator FeLV and FIV treatment is a USDA-approved treatment for FeLV and FIV and the associated symptoms of:
- Anemia
- Granulocytopenia
- Lymphopenia
- Opportunistic Infection
- Thrombocytopenia
How Does it Work?
Lymphocyte T-Cell Immunomodulator is a naturally-occurring, immune-modulating protein that will help to restore a cat’s ability to fight infection.
This injection eliminates impaired CD4 lymphocytes (infection-fighting, specialized white blood cells) and allows new, normal CD4s to produce the cytokines.
The cytokines help increaese CD8 populations. (CD8 populations are the “killer” cells that go to infection sites, gobble up bacteria, find and destroy viruses in the body, and knock out cancer cells),
Which, in turn, results in a normalization of blood parameters and resolution of opportunistic infections.
Lymphocyte T-Cell Immunomodulator may not be a cure for FeLV or FIV, but when effective, it aids in the treatment of these deadly diseases by restoring (modulating) your cat’s normal immune system.
How to Administer the Lymphocyte T-Cell Immunomodulator FeLV and FIV Treatment
Your veterinarian will have to administer Lymphocyte T-Cell Immunomodulator.
It is simple, involving a painless injection under your cat’s skin.
The loading dose is three injections one week apart (days 0, 7, and 14).
Afterwards, additional injections are given at your veterinarian’s discretion. The schedule could be monthly, bi-monthly, or as needed.
Sometimes critically ill patients are treated with a more aggressive treatment schedule.
